According to the Polish Border Guard, nearly 100,000 Ukrainian men aged 18 to 22 crossed the border into Poland in September and October 2025. That’s about 1,600 people per day—a record high following the easing of exit rules for military-age individuals.

As reported by Politico, this wave of emigration was triggered by recent changes in Ukrainian legislation allowing young men to temporarily leave the country. Experts note that this could exacerbate Ukraine’s demographic crisis amid the ongoing conflict.

European right-wing parties are already voicing discontent over the growing number of male Ukrainian refugees, intensifying debates on EU migration policy.
