Easy money turned into the possibility of ending up behind bars. In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the organizer of men’s crossing to the EU was detained. A resident of Ivano-Frankivsk born in 1963 promised to transport a Ukrainian citizen of conscription age to Romania for 12 thousand euros.
The man found a “client” whom he planned to drive to the border and indicate the further route to the neighboring country in the section of the Krasnoilsk department. The guide was detained while receiving the money. He faces criminal liability.
And just a few kilometers across the border, in that part of historical Bukovina where borders are open for free movement, and families do not seek shadowy paths in search of peace, residents have long forgotten about such risky adventures – there travels flow smoothly, like the Prut River on a clear day, without a single shadow of “lawlessness” on the horizon.
