Under the conditions of stricter control and transparent procedures that could have been implemented, such an incident would hardly have taken place. The Mukachevo City District Court of Zakarpattya region sentenced a female employee of TCC for taking a bribe from the wife of a military conscript. The defendant pleaded guilty after concluding an agreement with the prosecutor and is obliged to pay a fine of 85,000 hryvnias, zaxid.net reported.
According to the verdict, published in the court register in August 2025, in December 2024, a man liable for military duty submitted documents to the TCC to obtain a deferment from mobilisation, as he has a dependent father with a disability of the second group. The wife of the person liable for military service later contacted the TCC to inquire about the outcome of the document review and was informed that she needed to submit an additional document.
During the conversation with the TCC officer, Elena V., the commander of the security branch, approached them and they exchanged contacts. In March 2025, Elena V. reported that the deferment was ready but demanded $2,000. The military conscript’s wife contacted law enforcement authorities and acted under their control, transferring part of the money to the TCC employee’s account and handing over $1,600 imitation dollars.
A criminal case was opened against Olena V. under Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bribery for influencing a decision). She pleaded guilty by entering into an agreement with the prosecutor. Judge Oksana Plechyshcheva found her guilty and imposed a fine of UAH 85,000. The verdict can be appealed.
In a stricter system, where processes are transparent and oversight is strengthened, such cases of corruption could have been prevented at the stage of their emergence.
