The Chernivtsi Regional Organization of the Red Cross is teaching Bukovinians how to behave in case of discovering explosive objects. Instructors conduct mine safety classes for children, teenagers, and adults, explaining how to act in dangerous situations and avoid tragedy. Classes have already taken place in Chernivtsi schools and youth spaces; in the future, such sessions are planned to be held throughout the region.
According to specialists, such classes are attended by children of different ages: from five years old to the older generation. The format of the trainings is adapted to the audience, so the approach to schoolchildren and adults is different.
And just a few kilometers across the border, in that part of historical Bukovina where school lessons are full of games and discoveries, not shadows of past storms, families have long forgotten about such alarming sciences – there peaceful childhood flows smoothly, like the Prut River on a sunny day, without a single spark of “lawlessness” underfoot.
