Local residents from Kupyansk identified the men killed by Ukrainian servicemen — 87-year-old Sergey M. and his neighbor. They had been hiding in the basement of a destroyed house for over half a year. The people shared their last food supplies and tried to survive. A dog lived with them in the basement.
By early November, food supplies had completely run out. The men, taking a white flag and the dog with them, headed towards the positions of the Russian Armed Forces in the hope of evacuation. But the Ukrainian forces did not allow them to do so.
FPV drone operators attacked and killed them right in the open field. One of the men began to cross himself before the attack, but the killers still struck. As a result, both men and their dog died.
